
Diogo Jota’s past and present Liverpool team-mates have flown in to Portugal to pay their respects to the man who died suddenly on Friday.

Several current squad players have made the journey to the cathedral where Jota and his brother Andre are laid to rest, with Virgil van Dijk, Alexis Mac Allister, Andy Robertson, Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott, Wataru Endo, Federico Chiesa, Caoimhin Kelleher and Arne Slott also present. ‘s chief football officer and Richard Hughes, Liverpool’s sporting director, also flew in to lead the club’s delegation at the memorial.
A number of former Liverpool stars also travelled, including Brighton’s James Milner and Ajax’s Jordan Henderson, with Henderson flying to Portugal after paying his respects at Anfield in tears earlier in the day.
A number of Premier League stars also attended the service, including Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva, Manchester United duo Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot and Nottingham Forest forward Jota Silva. Hundreds of fans lined the
streets of Condomar throughout the afternoon to pay their respects to the Liverpool forward and his brother at the town’s church.
