Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has revealed that Samuel Omorodion wanted to leave the club this summer, according to reports.

Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has confirmed that Spain Under-21 striker Samuel Omorodian wants to leave Riyadh Air Metropolitano before the club fulfilled the player’s wishes by allowing him to join FC Porto, Ufabet reported on Saturday.
Samu joined Atletico Madrid from Granada in the summer of 2023 before the Rojiblancos sent him on loan to Alaves last season, with the 20-year-old expected to return to being a first-team regular for Simeone this season following the departure of Alvaro Morata.
However, Atletico Madrid paid big to sign new strikers Julian Alvarez and Alexander Sørloth, with Samu reportedly keen to leave the club and Los Rojiblancos responding by allowing the player to join FC Porto for €15m, but retaining 50 per cent of the player’s rights.
Simeone has confirmed during a press conference ahead of Sunday’s La Liga clash with Leganes that Samu wanted to leave the club last summer, according to reports.
‘We try to be fair in our pursuit of what is best for the Promotion ufabet club and the team. He knew on June 28, he sent a clear message that he did not want to stay at Atlético,’ Simeone said.
