Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice has urged his side to stop making mistakes after they were forced to play with 10 men midway through the first half and ended in a 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth.
“We’ve tripped over ourselves three times in eight games and we’ve survived at home against Brighton and away against Manchester City. Bournemouth did it and won 2-0.”
“I’m proud of the players who fought even though they were down to 10 men, but they were naive. We have to stop making mistakes because you need 11 men for 90 minutes and that’s what wins you football.”
“With 10 men we showed a lot of character and personality to stay in the game. The big chance was Martinelli and the goalkeeper read it and made a great save. And then a minute later, when we usually do very well, we made a mistake.”
“We can’t make stupid mistakes. You want all your best players on the pitch all the time. The confidence is high and we’re UFABET together. This is football. No matter what happens, the most important thing is to stay together and move in the right direction.” Rice said.
It is the third time in eight Premier League games this term that Arteta’s team have finished a game with 10 men and they have dropped points on every occasion. Leandro Trossard was dismissed on the stroke of halftime during an ill-tempered 2-2 draw at Manchester City, while Rice himself was controversially sent off for delaying the restart in a game at Emirates Stadium that Brighton came back to draw 1-1.
